# Adding $IXS / $WIXS to Metamask

MetaMask is a cryptocurrency wallet that allows users to buy, store, send, and swap tokens. It is available as a browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge) and as a mobile app for iOS and Android.

IXS is the native token on the Ethereum & Base networks, while WIXS represents IXS on Polygon. To view these tokens in MetaMask, you must manually add them as custom tokens.

## How to Add IXS or WIXS to MetaMask

### **1️⃣ Install MetaMask**

* Click "Create a Wallet" and follow the setup process.

### **3️⃣ Add a Custom Token (IXS / WIXS) to MetaMask**

* Sign in to your MetaMask wallet.
* Go to the "Assets" tab, scroll down, and click "Import Tokens".

### **4️⃣ Enter Token Details**

* Select the network where your token is located and paste the corresponding contract address:

* Token Symbol: IXS

Please note that the Polygon (MATIC) network has to be added manually to MetaMask for it to appear on your list of available networks. ### **5️⃣ Confirm & View Token Balance**

* Once imported, you can view your custom token balance in MetaMask.
* Click the return icon to go back to the main MetaMask wallet feed.
* Ensure you are on the correct network (Ethereum for IXS, Polygon for WIXS).
